Laundry Room Cleaning: Our Checklist

The laundry room can be tough to clean. It often involves tight maneuvering and some tedious cleaning tasks. We have put together a checklist for our cleaners so they know exactly what we expect from a cleaned laundry room! Here's an overview of the procedures we go through to make sure that your laundry room is spotless.

• Washer: We will clean out your washer with our standard cleaning tools, but if you're looking for a deep cleaning for your appliances, we can run white vinegar through the washing machine. We do this because vinegar sanitizes the hard-to-reach insides of the washer and clears away old soap scum that can be making the machine less useful.
• Dryer: The dryer is a bit simpler to clean than the washer. We will empty the lint trap, making sure that fabric softener hasn't caused buildup on the mesh screen of the trap. If it has a waxy film over it from the fabric softener, we will wash the lint trap in the sink to remove the film. Then, we will clean the interior of the dryer with a rag dampened with a mixture of dishwashing liquid and warm water. If there is lint and residue surrounding the lint trap, we will scrub it away with special tools to ensure your dryer is properly cleaned.
• Wipe Down Surfaces: The surfaces in the laundry room can get dirtier than you think! We will wipe down the outsides of your washer and dryer, and they we will clean your countertops, shelving, and any other surfaces you have in your laundry room. If your laundry room includes a sink, we will spray the sink with cleaner and wipe it down as well!
• Flooring: The floor of the laundry room can often become dirty, especially if it's also used as a mud room. That's why we pay attention to flooring when we clean your laundry room. We will mop or vacuum your floors thoroughly, sweeping up any debris beforehand. Then, we will vacuum any rugs you have in your laundry room. Finally, we will run a dust mop under your appliances, because extra dust and lint caught under the appliances can cause a fire hazard if it isn't taken care of properly.
• Behind The Appliances: Just as we should clean under your washer and dryer to make sure no lint is caught underneath them, we will also clean behind the appliances as well. We will take a vacuum with a brush attachment and clean the backs of the washer and dryer, as well as the flooring underneath them. 
• Vents: The laundry room's vents are particularly prone to becoming clogged due to the dust and lint in the air. Clogged vents will lead to reduced airflow, and they can even become a fire hazard. When we clean your laundry room, we will check to make sure your vents are free of dust and lint. If they have lint in them, we will first vacuum the inside of the vents on a high setting using a brush attachment. Then, we will wipe the grates of the vents with a damp cloth to remove any last bits of dust that are still there.
