Tips and Tricks to Keeping Your Home Clean
Your home is your castle, the hub of your life, and the place you raise children. Keeping your home clean and sanitary is important to a healthy lifestyle.
We know that with your busy schedule it can be difficult to vacuum or dust daily or even weekly. But there are a few small things your can do to keep your home safe from unwanted bacteria, dust, and cobwebs. Pennsylvania is undoubtedly the greatest state in America, so join us as we make Warwick, Brickerville, New Holland, and all of Lancaster County clean and healthy for us all. We have listed a few tips and tricks to assist you in day-to-day minor cleaning tasks. 1. Sanitize SpongesSponges can really get disgusting use after use. But what a waste to use a sponge then have to throw it away! Instead of discarding your used sponges, put them in the microwave for a couple of minutes. The heat will kill the microbe germs, and your sponge will be good to use again. - Studies have shown that 2 minutes in the microwave can kill 99% of germs on the used sponge. This simple trick will save you money, and it will help you be more environmentally friendly in your cleaning practices!
2. Cabinet Gunk RemoverYou've seen it; the black greasy buildup that accumulates around kitchen cabinet handles. It seems nearly impossible to remove, and it sinks into all the nooks and crannies in your cabinets. We have a wonderful solution to tackle that gunk that is incredibly simple. Mix two ingredients you probably have at home already- or your local Lancaster grocery store, vegetable oil and baking soda, and viola! Use a small brush (maybe a tooth brush) and gently scrub that gunk away. - One part vegetable oil, two parts baking soda, and you have your own homemade gunk remover!
3. Cleaning Small ToysBelieve it or not, your washing machine can be used for things other than clothes. Kids' toys can often be incredibly difficult to clean properly due to their small parts and unusual materials. If you have a number of small toys that need cleaning, you can put them into a laundry bag, and simply wash them in the washing machine. This concept works with the dishwasher as well. - A laundry bag in the wash can simplify your life.
4. Cookie Sheet CleanerIt seems we all have those cookie sheets that are completely tarnished on the bottom. Well, you can restore new life to those old cookie sheets by mixing two ingredients together, Apply a mixture of Baking Soda and Hydrogen Peroxide to your cookie sheet, and with a little time, it will look as good as new. This simple trick will save you a trip to the hardware store to buy a new cookie sheet-- your old one will be perfectly suitable with a little effort! No need to scrub. - Just let it sit and work while you tackle other tasks.
5. Removing LabelsWhy is it that ceramic makers use the absolute stickiest labels for their products? After hours spent trying to scrape the labels off, you still see the residue! The easiest solution... Soak your ceramic products in Oxiclean. That's all it takes, and those pestering sticky labels slide right off. - Why didn't we believe the "magic of Oxiclean" years ago!?
